அங்கண் மா ஞாலத்து அரசர் அபிமான
பங்கமாய் வந்து நின் பள்ளிக் கட்டில் கீழே
சங்கம் இருப்பார் போல் வந்து தலைப்பெய்தோம்
கிண்கிணி வாய் செய்த தாமரைப் பூ போலே
செங்கண் சிறுச் சிறிதே எம்மேல் விழியாவோ
திங்களும் ஆதித்தனும் எழுந்தார் போல்
அங்கண் இரண்டும் கொண்டு எங்கள் மேல் நோக்குதியேல்
எங்கள் மேல் சாபம் இழிந்தேலோர் எம்பாவாய்!

இத்திருப்பவையின் உரை!

அழகியதாய் விசாலமாய் பெரியதாயுள்ள பூமியில் அரசாட்சி செய்த ராஜாக்கள் தங்களுடைய அஹங்காரம் அடங்கி வந்து உன் சிம்மாசனத்தின் கீழ் திரள்திரளாக இருப்பது போலே நாங்களும் உன் இருப்பிடத்தேற விடைக் கொண்டு கிட்டினோம்; கிண்கிணியின் வாய்போலிரா நின்ற பாதிவிகஸிதமான செந்தாமரைப் பூ போன்ற சிவந்த திருக்கண்கள் கொஞ்சம் கொஞ்சமாக எங்கள் மேலே விழிக்க மாட்டாயோ? சந்திரனும் சூரியனும் உதித்தார் போல் அழகிய திருக்கண்கள் இரண்டிலும் எங்களைக் கடாக்ஷித்து அருள்வாயாகில் எங்கள் பக்கலில் உள்ள சாபம் கழிந்துவிடும்.

(ஆண்டாளுக்கும் பிற தோழிகளுக்கும் என்ன சாபம் நேர்ந்து விடப் போகின்றது? எதற்காக எங்கள் மேல் சாபம் இழிந்தேலோர் எம்பாவாய்! என்று கூறுகின்றாள் என்றால், அருகாமையில் உள்ள வீடுகளில் உள்ள மாமிகள் எல்லாம் கண்ணனிடம் பேசுவது, பழகுவது கூடாது என்று கூறியுள்ளனர். அதனையே சாபம் என்று எண்ணி இவ்வாறு கூறுகின்றாள்)

Its only in this pAsuram that Sri KrishNA opens His mouth and enquires the gOpikAs as to why they are visiting Him at this early hour.

The divine Eyes:

AnDAL sings about the gretaness of the divine eyes of EmperumAn. Hearing His question, She says, " You, out of all pretty well know as to why we are here. We never take refuge elsewhere. We are all of the esteemed family devotees who seek your grace and expecting at least a few words to fall down from your coral red lips. We are standing aside your bed forgetting our ego and submitting our arrogance at your feet like the kings who have lost in battle. All this we do to have your divine lotus eye to be opened and grace us. We who are to be at your service always, due to some curse have been separated. This separation can be donewith only by your causeless mercy. If not for those soothing looks we have no support. So please have mercy on us and throw a glance on us."
